Andrew, the 19-year-old, had been dismissed for a first-ball duck in the first India vs West Indies ODI, and returned to the XI for the third game after sitting out the second. Andrew hurt his finger when he took the catch to dismiss Naman Dhir inside the ring at cover and he had to go to a hospital for scans soon after. Fortunately for him and West Indies, no fracture was revealed. He, however, did not bat in West Indies’ successful chase.
Jangoo, 29, is regarded as more of a long-format player, but has turned out in seven T20Is for West Indies since making his international debut in December 2024. His record with the bat in those games is middling: 163 runs at a strike rate of 120.74.
The first India vs West Indies T20I will be played in Lucknow on Tuesday, with games to follow in Ranchi (October 9), Indore (October 11), Hyderabad (October 14) and Bengaluru (October 17).
