County Championship Division Two promotion chasers Kent have lost the services of bowler Hasan Mahmud for the final two matches of the season after he was recalled by Bangladesh.
The 26-year-old fast-medium has taken 30 wickets in seven matches in both the Championship and T20 Blast.
But he will now return to Bangladesh to prepare for their upcoming series with Afghanistan, West Indies and South Africa.
“We’re disappointed to have lost Hasan’s services for the County Championship run-in, but we respect the decision made by the BCB (Bangladesh Cricket Board) after constructive talks, and wish him well this winter,” Simon Cook, Kent’s director of cricket, told the club’s website, external.
“While he will be a big miss, both of our other overseas bowlers, Keith Dudgeon and Khaled Ahmed, remain available for these last two matches of the summer.”
Kent are third in the table, two points behind second-placed Northamptonshire but with two home games against the bottom two sides, Lancashire and Gloucestershire, to come.
