Aligarh, September 21: Students of the Department of Pediatrics, Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College (JNMC), Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), have brought laurels to the institution through their performance in academic competitions at the state and divisional levels. Their achievements reflect JNMC’s commitment to the overall grooming of its students by nurturing academic excellence, teamwork, confidence, presentation skills, and a spirit of healthy competition alongside clinical training.
Dr. Nirmaljeet Kaur and Dr. Mushahid Raza Khan, second-year MD Pediatrics students at JNMC, won the Divisional Round of the 20th Annual Indian Academy of Pediatrics (IAP) Postgraduate Pediatric Quiz-2026, held on September 10, 2026, in Agra. Competing against teams from other medical colleges, the JNMC team emerged victorious and has now qualified for the UP Zonal Round of the competition.
Congratulating the students on their achievement, Prof. Shaad Abqari, Chairperson, Department of Pediatrics, appreciated their dedication and academic enthusiasm and wished them success in the upcoming round.
In another significant achievement, JNMC Pediatrics students showcased their talent at the Annual Conference of the National Neonatology Forum (NNF), Uttar Pradesh State, held on September 13, 2026, in Aligarh.
Dr. Neha Singh Sengar and Dr. Swati Upadhyay, second-year MD Pediatrics students, won the Uttar Pradesh NNF Quiz, demonstrating their strong knowledge and ability to perform effectively in a competitive academic environment. Adding another distinction to JNMC’s achievements, Dr. Himang Bharadwaj, a third-year MD Pediatrics student, secured Second Prize in the Award Paper category for his scholarly presentation at the conference.
These accomplishments highlight the multifaceted development of postgraduate students at JNMC, where academic pursuits are complemented by opportunities to participate in quizzes, research presentations, professional conferences, and other scholarly activities.
