AMU Mathematics Department Celebrates Nine UGC-NET Qualifiers, Four Bag JRF – India Education | Latest Education News | Global Educational News


Aligarh : The Department of Mathematics, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), celebrated a notable academic achievement as nine of its students qualified the UGC-NET examination in Mathematics, with four securing Junior Research Fellowships (JRF).

An interactive meeting with the successful students was organised on September 14, at the office of the Chairperson, Department of Mathematics. The students who qualified UGC-NET-JRF are Mohd Juned, Jigyasa Pathak, Uzma Mahmood and Osama Parvez, while Shadab Alam, Ata Mohammad, Mohd Zimam, Mahfareen Bano and Megha Sharma qualified UGC-NET.

Prof. Asma Ali, Chairperson, Department of Mathematics, congratulated the successful students and appreciated their hard work, perseverance and dedication. She encouraged them to make the best use of the opportunity by strengthening their research capabilities and pursuing meaningful and impactful research.

Prof. Rais Ahmad and Prof. Md. Kalimuddin Ahmad also interacted with the students and extended their best wishes for their future academic and professional endeavours.

The Department of Mathematics, AMU, has a strong research environment, with more than 90 PhD scholars pursuing research in diverse areas of mathematics. The Department has consistently encouraged students to excel in competitive examinations such as UGC-NET/JRF alongside their academic programmes.

The Department provides systematic academic guidance through presentations, discussions and focused preparation during the Master’s programme, with faculty members readily available to mentor students. The latest achievement reflects the Department’s sustained emphasis on academic excellence, research orientation and competitive preparedness.

The success of the nine students is expected to inspire younger students to pursue higher studies, research and rewarding careers in mathematics.
