Aligarh: Mr. Taha Hasan, final-year Master of Social Work (MSW) student of the Department of Social Work, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), represented the University as a speaker at a national webinar organised by the India Network of Professional Social Workers’ Associations (INPSWA) as part of India Social Work Month 2026.
Held under the theme “Revisiting Theories in Social Work,” the webinar provided a national academic platform for students, researchers and social work professionals to exchange perspectives on contemporary applications of social work theories.
Mr. Hasan delivered a scholarly presentation on “Application of Psychodynamic Theory in Conflict Resolution,” explaining how psychodynamic perspectives can help social workers look beyond the visible dimensions of conflict and understand the deeper emotional, relational and experiential factors underlying it. He discussed concepts including unconscious processes, defence mechanisms, transference, recurring behavioural patterns and the influence of past experiences.
The webinar featured student presentations from reputed institutions including Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), Mumbai; NIMHANS, Bengaluru; and Vimala College, Thrissur, and witnessed participation of around 100 social work professionals, researchers and students from across the country.
