With just a day left for the release of the highly anticipated Awarapan 2, the sequel to Mohit Suri’s 2007 gangster-romance drama Awarapan, anticipation is building around the return of Shivam Pandit. Played by Emraan Hashmi, the troubled character became one of the most enduring aspects of the original film, which has developed a cult following over the years.
This romantic drama follows a scarred and grieving Shivam Pandit still haunted by the ghosts of his past. He is once again thrust into the world of violence and revenge, but this time, his rage takes centre stage.
[Batwara 1947]
Batwara 1947 features actors Shabana Azmi, Sunny Deol, and Preity Zinta in key roles and has generated significant buzz following the release of its teasers, music, and trailer. Set during a turbulent chapter in the history of the Subcontinent, the film revolves around themes of humanity, compassion, and courage.
The period drama follows a displaced Muslim family who is allotted an abandoned haveli belonging to a Hindu family in Lahore. Their new home, however, comes with an unexpected complication: an elderly woman still lives there and refuses to leave the ancestral home. What begins as a bitter dispute over property gradually takes an unexpected turn.
The Partition-era drama also features Karan Deol, Ali Fazal, and Abhimanyu Singh, and marks the reunion of director Rajkumar Santoshi and Sunny Deol after nearly three decades.
