New Delhi: Lighthouse Learning, which operates school brands including EuroSchool and Billabong High International School in India, has partnered with 164-year-old UK independent school Clifton College to bring the institution’s educational approach and global programmes to India.
The partnership will mark Clifton College’s first international presence outside the UK and will focus on areas including leadership, entrepreneurship, cultural understanding, adaptability and independent thinking.
The two institutions will also explore knowledge exchange and collaborations aimed at providing students and educators with greater international exposure.
Prajodh Rajan, Founder and Group CEO, Lighthouse Learning Group, said the partnership would allow Indian students to gain exposure to educational practices from the UK while creating opportunities for the two education systems to learn from each other.
“Our mission is to ignite the love for learning in one million children. We believe children in India should have access to the best educational thinking and practices from around the world,” Rajan said.
Dr Christopher Stevens, Executive Head, Clifton College Education Group, said India’s young population and growing engagement with international education made it an important market for the institution.
“Establishing Clifton’s first international presence beyond the UK in India reflects our ambition and our belief in the country’s growing significance as a destination for global education,” Stevens said.
According to the institutions, the partnership will seek to adapt Clifton College’s educational approach to the Indian context while allowing the UK institution to learn from India’s diverse education ecosystem.
The collaboration comes as Indian school groups increasingly explore international partnerships as a way to expand global exposure, leadership development and learning opportunities for students.
