Ono Keiichi, Japan’s Ambassador to India, visited Mumbai’s Film City and got a glimpse of Bollywood film production as he shared pictures from his visit on X.
In his post, Ono said he was thrilled to witness the production of Bollywood films first hand and soaking in the spirit of Indian cinema.
He also highlighted the scope for stronger India-Japan ties in the entertainment sector as the two countries prepare to mark 75 years of diplomatic relations next year.
“Visited #FilmCityMumbai. Thrilled to witness firsthand the production of Bollywood films and experience the very essence of Indian cinema. Looking forward to deepening our cooperation in the entertainment industry as we mark the 75th anniversary of relations next year,” he said in his post.
One of the pictures showed the ambassador posing in front of the ‘Wall of Fame’ featuring paintings of Bollywood actors, including Madhuri Dixit, Aamir Khan and Sanjay Dutt. The second picture was a selfie he took during his visit.

Film City, located in Mumbai’s Goregaon, is a major hub for Hindi film and television production, with studios and outdoor sets used for shooting films and shows.
