The Ministry of Women and Child Development (MWCD) is gearing up for the implementation of Special Campaign 6, with a focus on active participation, measurable outcomes and sustained impact across offices and institutions under the Ministry.

As part of the preparations, the Ministry is finalising targets and aligning activities with the key parameters and goals of the campaign. Achievements under Special Campaign 5.0

During the implementation phase of Special Campaign 5.0 from October 2 to October 31, 2025, and its continuation from November 1, 2025 to August 31, 2026, the Ministry undertook various activities for cleanliness, record management and disposal of pending references.

The Ministry completed 1,95,620 cleanliness drives across the country at locations including Anganwadi Centres, Child Care Institutions, One Stop Centres, Sakhi Niwas (Working Women Hostels) and Shakti Sadan (Swadhar Grehs). These efforts resulted in the freeing of 26,506 sq. ft. of office space. Disposal of scrap material and e-waste generated revenue of ₹14,29,703.

Under record management, the Ministry reviewed 6,267 physical files and 3,874 e-files, of which 3,591 e-files were closed. The Ministry also disposed of 35 MP references, 11 Parliament Assurances and all 28 State Government references identified during the campaign. In addition, 10,126 public grievances and 1,877 grievance appeals were resolved.

Use of Poshan Tracker for ease of living

As a best practice under Special Campaign 5.0, the Ministry used the Poshan Tracker database to prepare a “due list” of potential beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY). This initiative supports efforts towards improving ease of access to benefits for eligible beneficiaries.

During Special Campaign 5.0, senior officials of the Ministry also participated in and reviewed campaign activities at different locations. The Minister of Women and Child Development visited the Ministry’s offices at Shastri Bhawan, Jeevan Vihar and Jeevan Tara Buildings, New Delhi, to encourage active participation. The Additional Secretary, MWCD and Director, Savitribai Phule National Institute of Women and Child Development (SPNIWCD) also inspected the Regional Centre of SPNIWCD at Lucknow and reviewed the progress of the campaign.

Officials and staff of the Ministry actively participated in cleanliness drives at office premises and at SPNIWCD, Delhi. The Ministry will continue its preparations for Special Campaign 6, with emphasis on coordinated participation, clear targets and outcomes that can be sustained beyond the campaign period.
