Neha Bora is a research scholar at Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), where she is pursuing a PhD in Theatre and Performance Studies. She is also the national president of the All India Students’ Association (AISA), a student organisation involved in campaigns concerning education and students’ rights.

According to reports, Bora completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Delhi before pursuing a master’s degree at Dr BR Ambedkar University Delhi. Her postgraduate studies reportedly focused on Performance Studies. She subsequently joined JNU’s School of Arts and Aesthetics to pursue doctoral research in Theatre and Performance Studies.

FROM ACADEMIC INTERESTS TO STUDENT ACTIVISM

Alongside her academic pursuits, Bora has been involved in student politics and campaigns concerning educational access, students’ rights and accountability in educational institutions.

As AISA’s national president, she has participated in demonstrations highlighting examination-related concerns and issues surrounding fairness and opportunities for students. Her public appearances and speeches have addressed matters affecting students and young people, including concerns related to educational institutions and student representation.

AISA engages with student-related issues through campaigns, protests and public outreach. In her leadership role, Bora has been associated with the organisation’s activities concerning education and students’ rights.

Her academic background spans undergraduate and postgraduate studies at institutions in Delhi, followed by doctoral research at JNU. Theatre and Performance Studies examines performance in artistic and cultural contexts.

Bora’s academic journey and leadership role in AISA form the two main aspects of her public profile. While she continues her doctoral research at JNU, her involvement in student politics has included participation in campaigns and demonstrations concerning education and student-related issues.
