Ramayana’s viral international Hindi clips show Sita and Lakshman fighting creatures. Indian fans question scenes reportedly missing from the domestic cut.
Leaked clips reportedly from Ramayana’s international Hindi version show Sai Pallavi’s Sita and Ravie Dubey’s Lakshman confronting ferocious creatures.
Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana: Part One has crossed Rs 200 crore at the worldwide box office within two days of its release. However, amid discussions surrounding the film’s collections and performances, a new controversy has emerged over an action sequence featuring Sai Pallavi’s Sita and Ravie Dubey’s Lakshman. Clips of the sequence, reportedly from the international Hindi version of the film, have surfaced on social media, prompting Indian viewers to question why the same footage was not included in the domestic theatrical release.
The development has attracted attention because the Indian Hindi version is already approximately 30 minutes longer than the English-language cut released internationally. While viewers on X and Reddit have been discussing the apparent differences between the Indian and international Hindi versions, News18 Showsha cannot independently confirm whether the overseas Hindi release contains additional scenes or whether other sequences were omitted from the domestic version.
What Happens In The Sita-Lakshman Action Sequence?
The footage circulating on social media offers a detailed glimpse of an action sequence involving Sita, Lakshman and Rama. The scene unfolds during Rama’s confrontation with Khara and Dushana’s formidable army of 14,000 demons.
In the leaked clips, an injured Lakshman is seen running alongside Sita through a rocky canyon as three ferocious, dog-like creatures pursue them. With the animals closing in, the two seek refuge inside a cave situated behind a waterfall.

Having temporarily escaped their pursuers, Lakshman sits down to recover from his injuries while Sita attempts to tend to his wounds. She pours water over them, seemingly unaware that their attackers have followed them to their hiding place.
However, their respite proves short-lived. The three creatures eventually arrive at the cave, slowly advancing towards the pair with their teeth bared.
What follows is a brief but striking moment involving Sita. Rather than retreating, she rises to confront the approaching animals, drawing a dagger and assuming a defensive stance. Lakshman subsequently moves ahead of her, placing himself between Sita and the creatures while preparing to fight them.
As the three animals simultaneously leap towards Lakshman, he raises his sword to counter their attack. However, before they can reach him, an arrow suddenly strikes the creatures mid-air, sending them tumbling over the waterfall.
The sequence then cuts to Rama, played by Ranbir Kapoor, revealing that he has arrived just in time to rescue Sita and Lakshman.
The scene has become a talking point online, particularly because it gives Sita an opportunity to display her defensive instincts while also portraying Lakshman’s determination to protect her despite his injuries.
Indian Viewers Question Differences Between Ramayana’s Hindi Versions
The clips have sparked discussions on X and Reddit, where viewers have questioned the apparent omission of the sequence from the Hindi version screened in Indian theatres.
The footage is being circulated as part of the international Hindi version, rather than the shorter English-language adaptation. This distinction is particularly relevant because the filmmakers had already prepared different edits of Ramayana for domestic and international audiences.
The Indian Hindi version reportedly runs for approximately 196 minutes, while the English-language version has a runtime of around 166 minutes.
The shorter English adaptation removes certain songs and narrative passages, including portions of the Bharat Milap episode and other sequences involving Rama’s family. These changes were reportedly intended to make the narrative more accessible to audiences unfamiliar with the epic.
However, the latest discussion concerns something different: the possibility that the international Hindi version itself contains footage absent from the Indian Hindi release.
Although the leaked clips have prompted speculation about further omissions, News18 Showsha has not independently established whether the international Hindi version contains more scenes than the domestic Hindi cut or whether additional sequences were removed from Indian screenings.
The filmmakers have not issued a clarification regarding the differences being discussed online.
Ramayana Crosses Rs 200 Crore Worldwide In Two Days
Meanwhile, Ramayana: Part One has reportedly collected approximately Rs 221.05 crore worldwide within its first two days, according to Sacnilk.
The film opened with Rs 64.85 crore net in India on Thursday, followed by Rs 48.05 crore on Friday, registering a decline of approximately 25.9 per cent. Its cumulative domestic net collection stands at Rs 112.90 crore, while its overseas gross has reportedly reached Rs 86.25 crore.
Directed by Nitesh Tiwari and produced by Namit Malhotra, Ramayana features Ranbir Kapoor as Rama, Sai Pallavi as Sita, Yash as Ravana and Ravie Dubey as Lakshman. The film is the first instalment of a planned two-part adaptation, with the concluding chapter scheduled for release in 2027.
