SRK & Salman of Cricket! Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma channel inner ‘Pathaan’ in hilarious Ad promo

Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, the pair fans lovingly call ‘Ro-Ko’, have turned up in an advertisement promo that borrows the on-screen chemistry of Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan from the blockbuster film Pathaan, and cricket fans are enjoying it.

The promo shows the two superstars chatting in a relaxed, light-hearted way about their long journey in Indian cricket. They look back on the many years they’ve spent playing for the country, and on how several generations of cricketers have come and gone around them.

Kohli and Rohit imitate a handful of their teammates, taking friendly digs at KL Rahul, Ravindra Jadeja and Shubman Gill along the way. Later, the tone turns more serious as the pair talk about the importance of the upcoming World Cup year, hinting that the months ahead could be a remarkable stretch for Indian cricket.

Rohit tells Kohli how long it has been since they last met, and Kohli replies that the fun hasn’t changed. Then he adds a line about the squad’s mood.

“Our boys are also very excited,” Kohli says.

“Haan woh,” Rohit replies.

Kohli looks completely lost. The gag nods to one of Rohit’s best-known speaking habits. The former India captain often says “woh” when he can’t instantly recall a name, which leaves everyone nearby guessing what he means. This time, Kohli plays along.

Rohit then copies KL Rahul’s trademark ‘Kantara’ celebration, and Kohli catches the reference at once.

When the topic turns to Ravindra Jadeja, Kohli uses sign language to help Rohit understand that he means the all-rounder’s sword celebration.

Next comes Shubman Gill, and the two perform his familiar hat-doffing celebration before declaring that he’s excited as well. They close the promo with a shared line.

“It’s a big year, the country is counting on us,” they say.
