  • India’s total exports (Merchandise and Services combined) for August 2026* is estimated at US$ 82.68 Billion, registering a positive growth of 25.41 percent vis-à-vis August 2025. Total imports (Merchandise and Services combined) for August 2026* is estimated at US$ 92.09 Billion, registering a positive growth of 18.75 percent vis-à-vis August 2025.

  • Merchandise exports during August 2026 were US$ 43.81 Billion as compared to US$ 34.74 Billion in August 2025.
  • Merchandise imports during August 2026 were US$ 70.67 Billion as compared to US$ 61.96 Billion in August 2025.

  • Merchandise exports during April-August 2026-27 were US$ 215.91 Billion as compared to US$ 183.21 Billion during April-August 2025-26.
  • Merchandise imports during April-August 2026-27 were US$ 363.00 Billion as compared to US$ 307.09 Billion during April-August 2025-26.
  • Merchandise trade deficit during April-August 2026-27 was US$ 147.09 Billion as compared to US$ 123.88 Billion during April-August 2025-26.

  • The estimated value of services export for August 2026* is US$ 38.87 Billion as compared to US$ 31.19 Billion in August 2025.
  • The estimated value of services imports for August 2026* is US$ 21.42 Billion as compared to US$ 15.59 Billion in August 2025.

  • The estimated value of service exports during April-August 2026-27* is US$ 183.36 Billion as compared to US$ 162.34 Billion in April-August 2025-26.
  • The estimated value of service imports during April-August 2026-27* is US$ 96.65 Billion as compared to US$ 82.40 Billion in April-August 2025-26.
  • The services trade surplus for April-August 2026-27* is US$ 86.71 Billion as compared to US$ 79.94 Billion in April-August 2025-26.

  • Exports of  Iron Ore (126.3%), Electronic Goods (89.82%), Petroleum Products (63.27%), Meat, Dairy & Poultry Products (37.08%), Handicrafts Excl. Hand Made Carpet (29.63%), Marine Products (27.76%), Engineering Goods (24.86%), Plastic & Linoleum (18.92%), Coffee (17.08%), Organic & Inorganic Chemicals (16.38%), Cotton Yarn/Fabs./Made-Ups, Handloom Products Etc. (13.79%), Man-Made Yarn/Fabs./Made-Ups Etc. (9.92%), Cereal Preparations & Miscellaneous Processed Items (7.39%), Carpet (5.38%), Rice (4.12%), Drugs & Pharmaceuticals (3.84%), Cashew (3.59%), and Gems & Jewellery (0.69%) recorded positive growth during August 2026 over the corresponding month of last year.
  • Imports of Gold (-57.75%), Pulp And Waste Paper (-13.83%), Iron & Steel (-11.69%), Newsprint (-10.85%), Textile Yarn Fabric, Made-Up Articles (-8.12%), Medcnl. & Pharmaceutical Products (-7.9%), Wood & Wood Products (-3.17%), Leather & Leather Products (-1.33%), and Organic & Inorganic Chemicals (-0.51%) recorded negative growth during August 2026 over the corresponding month of last year.
  • Services exports is estimated to grow by 12.95 percent during April-August 2026-27* over April-August 2025-26.
  • Top 5 export destinations, in terms of change in value, exhibiting positive growth in August 2026 vis a vis August 2025 are U S A (21.83%), Singapore (160.96%), Spain (196.47%), China P Rp (52.35%), and Tanzania Rep (214.52%).
  • Top 5 export destinations, in terms of change in value, exhibiting positive growth in April-August 2026-27 vis a vis April-August 2025-26 are Singapore (96.56%), China P Rp (38.71%), U S A (6.17%), Tanzania Rep (129%), and Malaysia (75.4%).
  • Top 5 import sources, in terms of change in value, exhibiting growth in August 2026 vis a vis August 2025 are U S A (65.78%), Russia (43.82%), China P Rp (17.07%), Oman (157.45%), and Taiwan (108.31%)
  • Top 5 import sources, in terms of change in value, exhibiting growth in April-August 2026-27 vis a vis April-August 2025-26 are Russia (56.69%), China P Rp (27.01%), U S A (29.6%), Oman (190.63%), and Brazil (159.83%).
