The collective participation of the IIM Bodh Gaya members reflects the Institute’s commitment to social responsibility and meaningful contribution to society.
On 20th September 2026, Pragati, the CSR Committee of IIM Bodh Gaya, organised a blood donation drive at Dhanvantri, the Institute’s medical services unit. The initiative saw participation from students, faculty members and non-teaching staff in support of voluntary blood donation and community healthcare. The camp was conducted in collaboration with Anugrah Narayan Magadh Medical College and Hospital (ANMMCH), Gaya.
The blood donation initiative was organised under the guidance and support of Dr. Vinita S. Sahay, Director, IIM Bodh Gaya, Mr. Suresh K.G., Chairperson, Pragati, and Prof. Ajith Tom James, Co-Chairperson, Pragati. Their presence encouraged volunteers and donors and reflected the Institute’s support for initiatives centred on social responsibility and community service.
A team of eight medical staff members from ANMMCH efficiently managed the blood donation process. From the initial screening to post-donation care, the team ensured a systematic, safe and comfortable experience for all participants.
With over 150 members of the IIM Bodh Gaya community participating, the initiative received an encouraging response. Prof. Medha Srivastava congratulated Pragati on successfully conducting the blood donation drive and appreciated it as an extension of the Institute’s aims and a noble cause, noting that the process was carried out smoothly. Prof. Vishal Ashok Wankhede remarked that blood donation can offer a second chance at life to those in need, particularly at a time when life can be fragile. He further emphasised the importance of blood donation in giving individuals an opportunity to recover and live. Prof. Deepak Ramanan V expressed hope that the donated blood would help save lives during emergencies and appreciated the organising team for its sincere efforts in conducting the blood donation camp.
The blood donation drive builds on Pragati’s continued efforts to promote voluntary blood donation at IIM Bodh Gaya. Previous camps were organised in collaboration with AIIMS Patna in 2024 and ANMMCH, Gaya, in 2025, with both drives witnessing participation from over 100 donors. The 2026 edition further strengthened this continued engagement with voluntary blood donation and community healthcare at the Institute.
The initiative reflects IIM Bodh Gaya’s commitment to social responsibility and its focus on creating a positive impact in society. Through such initiatives, the Institute encourages its community to actively contribute to causes that promote social service and collective well-being.
