Prithviraj Sukumaran’s latest movie, Daayra, under the direction of National Award-winning filmmaker Meghna Gulzar’s direction, is soon to be released. This is, however, not the first time Prithviraj has laid the foundation of his artistry in Bollywood.
Looking back, there were five other projects on which he had worked. The list of movies includes Aiyyaa (2012), Aurangzeb (2013), Naam Shabana (2017), Bade Miyan Chote Miyan (2024), and Sarzameen (2025). During his stint in Bollywood, he has worked with some top talents, including the likes of Rani Mukerji, Akshay Kumar, Kajol, Manoj Bajpayee, Taapsee Pannu, and Rishi Kapoor, among many other notable names.
However, most of them have had a decent run at the box office. This doesn’t take away from Prithviraj’s mastery in his art and his ability to produce blockbusters. This can evidently be seen in his work over the years, including critical hits like Lucifer (2019), Jana Gana Mana (2022), Salaar: Part 1 (2023), and The GoatLife (2024), among several others.
He first made his debut in the Malayalam film Nakshathrakkannulla Rajakumaran Avanundoru Rajakumari (2002) and has since, over the years produced a prominent identity in Indian cinema.
His latest Bollywood movie, Daayra, is due to have its theatrical release on September 18, 2026. Prithviraj Sukumaran will be seen starring alongside Kareena Kapoor Khan in a thrilling cop-chase drama. While both act on the same side of the law, the moral compasses towards their individual ideas of justice rest on opposite spectrums.
It is left to be seen how the cops, DCP Raman Kumar (Prithviraj Sukumaran) and DCP Ajooni Kohli (Kareena Kapoor Khan), put aside their personal agendas to focus on the major threat lurking in the streets.
