ALIGARH, September 18: Maryam and Sayeda Laiba Ali, students of Senior Secondary School (Girls), Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), won the Gold Medal at the Dr. Karni Singh Ji Roller Derby Federation Cup 2026, held in Bikaner, Rajasthan.
Representing Uttar Pradesh, the two students displayed skill, teamwork and determination throughout the competition. Uttar Pradesh defeated teams from Rajasthan, Telangana and Karnataka before overcoming Rajasthan in the final to clinch the Gold Medal and the Federation Cup title.
Congratulating the students, Ms. Naghma Irfan, Principal, Senior Secondary School (Girls), AMU, appreciated their achievement and said that their success reflected the importance of balancing academic pursuits with sports and other extracurricular activities. Vice Principal Mrs. Zoya Samar and Games & Sports In-charge Mr. Kamran Khan were also present on the occasion.
