AMU University Polytechnic Concludes International Conference on Innovations in Sustainable Technologies – India Education | Latest Education News | Global Educational News


ALIGARH, October 7: The Mechanical Engineering Section, University Polytechnic, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), has concluded the International Conference on Innovations in Sustainable Technologies (ICIST-2026), bringing together researchers, academicians, industry professionals and students to deliberate on emerging technologies, sustainable engineering practices and innovative solutions to contemporary environmental and technological challenges.

Prof. Mohd. Mohsin Khan, Pro-Vice Chancellor; Prof. Mohammad Athar Ansari, Dean, Students’ Welfare; and Prof. Rupinder Singh, NITTTR Chandigarh, attended the programme as Guests of Honour. Prof. Nisar Ahmed, Dean, Faculty of Engineering and Technology, and Prof. Mujib Ahmad Ansari, Principal, University Polytechnic, served as Patrons, while Dr Mohd Asif Hasan, In-charge, Mechanical Engineering Section, University Polytechnic, was the Co-Patron.

Prof. Mohd. Mohsin Khan highlighted the growing importance of sustainable technologies amid rapid technological advancement and increasing environmental concerns. Prof. Mohammad Athar Ansari stressed the role of modern technologies in building a sustainable environment, while Prof. Nisar Ahmed underlined the need for sustainable approaches to address environmental challenges in engineering and industrial development.

Earlier, welcoming the guests and participants, Prof. Mujib Ahmad Ansari emphasised that the conference would provide a valuable platform for sharing innovative ideas, strengthening academic-industry interaction and exploring sustainable solutions to emerging technological challenges.

Prof. Rupinder Singh, NITTTR Chandigarhdiscussed the potential of additive manufacturing for sustainable and resource-efficient production. Prof. Muhammad Sohaib, Jamia Millia Islamia, highlighted the growing role of robotics in industrial systems and everyday life. Prof. Semail Ulgen, Antalya Bilim University, Turkey discussed sustainability through artificial intelligence, while Prof. Rizwan Ur Rehman, NIT Surathkal, presented research on Doped Graphene Quantum Dot–Polymer Composites and their potential applications in advanced energy-storage technologies.

The conference received more than 100 research papers from scholars, researchers and industry professionals. The presentations covered advanced manufacturing, sustainable technologies, innovative engineering solutions, automation, intelligent systems and other emerging areas. The conference also provided a platform for interdisciplinary interaction, knowledge exchange and discussions on collaborative approaches to developing technologically viable and environmentally responsible solutions.

The conference was convened by Dr Wasif Ullah Khan, Dr Mohd Yunus Khan and Dr Md Israr Iqbal, with Dr Abdul Faheem as Treasurer. Dr Ahmad Saood, Dr Mirza Shariq Beg and Dr Umair Arif served as Co-Conveners. Dr Sameera conducted the inaugural session, while Dr Mohd Asif Hasan proposed the vote of thanks.

The valedictory session was conducted by Dr Abdul Faheem, during which certificates were distributed and awards presented for the best research papers.
