ALIGARH : Aligarh Muslim University’s Begum Sultan Jahan (BSJ) Hall has added a new indoor and outdoor gymnasium to its residential facilities, with Vice Chancellor Prof. Naima Khatoon stressing the importance of physical fitness and healthy living for students.
Inaugurating the facility, Prof. Naima Khatoon appreciated the initiative and encouraged the residents to make effective use of the new gymnasium. She also assured the students that any difficulties relating to the facility could be brought to the notice of the authorities through the proper channel.
Pro Vice Chancellor Prof. Mohd Mohsin Khan appreciated the arrangements and facilities provided by the Hall administration and advised the Provost, Prof. Fatima Khan, to ensure that the quality of services available to students is maintained.
Prof. Vibha Sharma, MIC, Public Relations, described the gymnasium as an important addition to the Hall’s facilities and emphasised the role of regular physical activity in promoting healthy living and overall well-being.
Provost Prof. Fatima Khan expressed gratitude to Prof. Anver P.C., Executive Director, IQRAA Hospital, Calicut, for his generous support towards establishing the gymnasium. She said the facility would not have been possible without his contribution and reiterated the Hall administration’s commitment to creating a healthy and positive residential environment for students.
The new facility comprises both indoor and outdoor gym arrangements, providing residents with dedicated space for exercise and fitness activities. Gym In-charge Ms. Khizra informed the Vice Chancellor that a considerable number of students had already shown interest in gym and fitness activities and were eager to use the facility regularly.
The inauguration programme included unveiling of the facility, release of balloons and cake-cutting by the Vice Chancellor along with the students. The event was also attended by the University Engineer Prof. Izhar Farooqui, wardens and residents of the Hall.
