Donald is expecting not to be asked to change his approach this week.
“I have been given an opportunity to play a specific role and hopefully bring some wins for England,” said Donald.
“That is what’s got me to this point, it’s a unique way of playing but feel like that’s the best for me.
“It’s my job to break open games, get ahead of the rate and put on as much pressure as I can earlier, stretching the powerplay.
“I feel I’m right up there with anyone in the country doing that and when you look at all the players around me, it leans even more for me to take on that role.
“When you have got some world-class players sat behind you there’s no point in messing around and wasting balls.”
Donald certainly does not want to just make up the numbers.
“I want to show I can compete at this level, not just play a small role, but hopefully win games for England,” he added.
“On a more holistic level, it is trying to soak it all in.
“I hope I’m going to get more opportunities after this but if this is all I get, it’s about enjoying every moment.
“It’s about trying not to get caught up in the whirlwind.
“You never know where things end up. It’s already been a life-changing few weeks and hopefully that’s going to carry on to a few more.”
