Chennai, November 17, 2026: Chennai is set to kick off the new year with a celebration of fandom as Maruti Suzuki presents Chennai Comic Con, powered by Crunchyroll, returning for its fourth edition on January 16–17, 2027, at the Chennai Trade Centre, Nandambakkam. A subsidiary of NODWIN Gaming, Comic Con India will bring together fans, creators and pop-culture communities from Chennai and beyond for a two-day celebration of comics, anime, gaming, cosplay and all things fandom under one roof.

Chennai Comic Con aims to bring together the city’s anime, comics, gaming and cosplay communities for a weekend filled with memorable experiences. Fans can look forward to their favourite characters coming to life, with opportunities to meet international guests, discover new stories, interact with creators, enjoy live music and stand-up comedy, and experience immersive fan zones and gaming arenas. The event will also offer Chennai’s growing fandom community a space to discover new interests, express their passion and connect with fellow enthusiasts who share their love for pop culture.

Shefali Johnson, CEO, Comic Con India, said, “Chennai’s connection with art and culture can be seen across its landscape, from its vibrant murals to the Cholamandal Artists’ Village. The city’s rich heritage, artistic communities and vibrant cultural calendar reflect a deep-rooted spirit of creativity and self-expression. The overwhelming response and support we received from fans in Chennai last year reaffirmed the city’s strong connection with fandom and pop culture. We are excited to return for another chapter of Chennai Comic Con and bring fans an even bigger celebration of the communities and passions they love.”

Akshat Rathee, Co-founder and Managing Director, NODWIN Gaming, said, “Chennai has a long-standing love for storytelling and comics, from the early efforts to translate and localise classic adventure comics to the vibrant fandom culture we see today. From passionate movie fan clubs and public celebrations to growing communities around anime, manga, gaming and global pop culture, the city has a unique way of bringing fans together. We see immense potential in Chennai, and Comic Con is an opportunity to build on this enthusiasm by creating a space where fans can meet like-minded people, discover new interests and celebrate the characters, stories and worlds they love. We’re excited to see how the city makes Comic Con its own and how its fandom community continues to grow.”

With every edition, Chennai’s Comic Con community continues to grow, bringing together more fans and further establishing the city as a vibrant and fast-growing destination for pop culture and fandom. Last year, Chennai Comic Con drew over 45,000 fans for a celebration of pop culture, featuring internationally acclaimed comic book writer Ron Marz, known for his work on Green Lantern, Silver Surfer, Witchblade and the DC vs. Marvel crossover series.

Building on this strong response, the third edition will bring Chennai’s fandom community together once again, for another weekend celebrating all things pop culture.
