Pakistan squad set to undergo major changes after Asian Games silver
Pakistan’s squad for the Sri Lanka T20I series 2026 could look quite different from the last one, with a new captain reportedly set to lead a side that brings back several familiar faces.
The biggest talking point is the captaincy, as Sahibzada Farhan, who led the team during the Asian Games, is widely seen as the likely successor, while Salman Ali Agha is said to be on his way out as skipper and may be dropped from the side altogether.
Babar Azam and Naseem Shah are set for comebacks, and Fakhar Zaman and Shadab Khan are expected to rejoin as well. That’s four senior names in one go, which would give the dressing room a very different feel.

Abrar Ahmed, Akif Javed, Ali Raza, Arafat Minhas, Hasan Nawaz, Maaz Sadaqat, Saim Ayub, Sufyan Moqim and Usman Khan, the wicketkeeper, should walk in from the Asian Games squad.
However, Ahmed Daniyal, Haider Ali, Mohammad Salman Mirza and Saad Masood can be left out from the Asian Games group.
