Furious Saqlain Mushtaq dares ex-Pakistan selector Tauseef Khan over alleged audio exposing nepotism in selection

A seething Saqlain Mushtaq has gone public with a challenge to former Pakistan selector Tauseef Khan to release an alleged audio recording that purportedly captures him lobbying for Shadab Khan’s inclusion in the national team.

This adds explosive fuel to long-standing accusations of favouritism surrounding Saqlain and his son-in-law.

Saqlain, who held influential roles in Pakistani cricket, including head coach of the national side and a position at the National Cricket Academy, has faced repeated accusations of using his influence to advance Shadab’s interests within the squad. Those conversations have circulated quietly for years.

Now, former selector Tauseef brought them into the open on a recent chat show and alleged that he was asked for favours by Saqlain.

“He (Saqlain) doesn’t look at anyone other than Shadab. And such things they talk about… Man, there is a limit, brother! There is a limit to favouritism! Who is holding their hand over you from above? I was called on the phone and told, ‘You stay calm.’ Recording… recording – which was sent later on,” Tauseef said on the programme.
