After winning the three-match ODI series against the West Indies 2-1 on Saturday (October 3), India will face the Men in Maroon in a five-match T20I series.

The first match of the 20-over series is scheduled to take place at Ekana Stadium in Lucknow on Tuesday (October 6), with the remaining four matches to be played in Ranchi, Indore, Hyderabad and Bengaluru on October 9, 11, 14 and 17, respectively.

Only three players from India’s ODI squad are part of the T20I series, while as many as 10 members of India’s Asian Games 2026 squad will feature in the home series against the two-time T20 World Cup winners.

Meanwhile, seven players from West Indies’ ODI squad are also part of the T20I side, which includes their captain and wicketkeeper-batter Shai Hope.

The right-handed batter scored back-to-back centuries against India in Guwahati and New Chandigarh to help the West Indies post big totals, and he will look to maintain his good form in the five T20Is as well.

For the T20Is, West Indies will have the services of Shimron Hetmyer, Rovman Powell, Akeal Hosein and Romario Shepherd. All four featured in the IPL earlier this year and are capable of winning matches single-handedly.

India have rested Jasprit Bumrah and Washington Sundar for the T20I series against the West Indies, but they still have enough depth in the fast-bowling department, which will be led by left-arm pacer Arshdeep Singh.

In batting, the onus will be on Abhishek Sharma, Ishan Kishan, Sanju Samson, Tilak Varma, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi and captain Shreyas Iyer.
