The Chandragupt Institute of Management Patna (CIMP) and Ajou University, Republic of Korea, have taken a significant step forward in their academic partnership by hosting a collaborative event and faculty meeting to chart the future of joint initiatives.
During the meeting, faculty members from both institutions discussed opportunities for joint programmes, research collaboration, and student exchange. The dialogue emphasised the importance of combining Ajou’s expertise in AI, ICT, robotics, and digital transformation with CIMP’s strengths in climate finance, ESG, inclusive development, and social entrepreneurship.
Dr. (Prof.) Rana Singh, Director CIMP said, “This collaboration represents a unique bridge between Korea’s advanced technology economy and India’s emerging-market innovation ecosystem. Together, CIMP and Ajou will nurture leaders who can harness AI and digital transformation for sustainable and inclusive growth.”
Professor Byeong Yun Chang, Department of Business Administration, Ajou University, said: “Our collaboration with CIMP is a meaningful opportunity to connect Korea’s advanced technology ecosystem with India’s dynamic development context. By combining expertise in AI, digital transformation, and sustainability, we aim to create joint programs, research initiatives, and student exchanges that will nurture globally minded leaders capable of driving innovation with responsibility and impact.”
The main objectives of the collaboration are to develop leaders who connect AI and emerging technologies with business, public systems, and sustainability. Create application-oriented courses co-designed by faculty from both institutions. Build reciprocal student and faculty exchanges with ecosystem exposure in India and Korea. Promote capstones, prototypes, and industry/government problem-solving projects, and establish joint research clusters, conferences, and eventually a Joint Centre for AI and Innovation.

Professor Sang Hyun Lee, Director of the Graduate School of International Studies at Ajou University, together with Professor Kalyan Agrawal, Area Chair of the IT & IS Department at CIMP, initiated the dialogue that laid the foundation for this collaboration. Mr. Amitabh Keshav, Advisor Ajou University, also joined the strategic meeting from South Korea, further strengthening the discussions and contributing to the partnership vision. Professor Priya Nath will take on the role of coordinating the further collaborations between CIMP and Ajou University.

The immediate priorities of the CIMP–Ajou partnership is to establish a Joint Centre for AI, Innovation, Entrepreneurship, and Sustainability, serving as a long-term platform for research, executive education, and industry engagement. Alongside this, both institutions will initiate student exchange programmes to provide reciprocal ecosystem exposure in India and Korea, and launch short-term programs and joint certificates that integrate advanced technology perspectives with sustainability and inclusive development. These steps will ensure that the collaboration moves swiftly from vision to action, creating tangible opportunities for students, faculty, and industry partners.
The key programmes are:
1. CIMP–Ajou AI Future Leaders Certificate (7 days) – AI literacy, applied prototypes, and innovation pitches.
2. Executive Certificate in AI-Driven Digital Transformation & Innovation (1 month) – Organisation-level AI opportunity assessment and transformation planning.
3. Korea–India AI, Sustainability & Innovation Immersion (15 days) – Reciprocal cross-cultural learning, ecosystem visits, and joint innovation challenges.
