Aligarh, September 21: Dr Qazi Ehsan Ali, Senior Professor, Department of Anaesthesiology and Critical Care, J.N. Medical College, Aligarh Muslim University, and Principal of the Paramedical College and Director of the Medical Attendance Scheme, highlighted the importance of strengthening trauma care and integrating emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI) into future trauma-care training and clinical practice at a two-day Trauma Summit in Greater Noida.
The summit, titled “Phoenix – The Great Unburdening”, was organised at the Government Institute of Medical Sciences (GIMS), Greater Noida, and Hotel Expo Inn & Suites by the Department of Anaesthesia and Critical Care, GIMS, in collaboration with the Department of Emergency Medicine.
Speaking during the summit, Dr Qazi Ehsan Ali noted that a large number of trauma cases result from road and highway accidents, making timely intervention and coordinated trauma management essential.
Discussing the future of trauma care, he suggested incorporating computer-based patient assessment systems and AI into trauma-care training and clinical discussions. He explained that clinical parameters and patient information could potentially be analysed through computer-based systems to provide additional information to assist doctors in determining further management.
However, he emphasised that AI should remain a supportive tool and not replace clinical judgment. Comprehensive assessment by doctors would continue to be essential, while AI-based systems could provide supplementary analytical support.
