The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will hold a live talkathon on substance abuse among young people today, September 20. The session, titled “Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat,” will begin at 6 pm and will run for 45 minutes.

The discussion will focus on issues that students may face, including peer pressure, substance use, prevention and how to seek help.

Experts from the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), AIIMS New Delhi and CBSE schools will take part in the session. They are expected to discuss ways students can deal with situations involving substance use and where they can turn for support.

STUDENTS CAN SEND QUESTIONS

CBSE has invited students to send questions and messages for the experts before the talkathon. Questions can cover topics such as preventing substance abuse, handling peer pressure, making responsible choices and getting help.

Students can share their questions on Instagram and X using the hashtags #CBSETalkathon and #NashaMuktYuva.

Students can also take part by sharing posters or short videos related to the campaign. Some of the submissions may be featured during the live discussion.

WHERE TO WATCH THE SESSION

The talkathon will be streamed live on YouTube from 6 pm on September 20.

The session brings together people from healthcare, law enforcement and the school education system. The focus will be on helping students understand the risks of substance use and know what steps they can take if they or someone they know needs support.

For students, the discussion is also an opportunity to ask questions about situations they may find difficult to handle and hear directly from experts.
