Mumbai, 7th October 2026: Education in Ireland, the national brand promoting Irish higher education institutions worldwide, successfully concluded its annual education fair in Mumbai in the presence of Mr. Patrick Duffy, Consul General of Ireland, Mumbai and Ms. Elizabeth McHenry, Regional Manager – Asia & MENA, Education in Ireland.

Hosted at The St. Regis in Mumbai, the form brought together 17 leading Irish Universities to meet aspiring Indian students and parents in an immersive experience to directly explore global academic opportunities in Ireland.

Ms. McHenry said, “India and Ireland share a strong foundation of educational and institutional engagement, and forums such as these provide an important platform to exchange perspectives and explore new avenues for collaboration. I was delighted to see the awareness among Indian students regarding universities, programmes, and life in Ireland. We are looking forward to welcoming aspiring, high-quality students to Ireland, and creating a holistic global learning experience for them.”

Positioned as a comprehensive guidance avenue, fair allowed students to explore undergraduate and postgraduate programmes across technology, healthcare, sustainability, business and finance, arts and humanities, and emerging industries. Academics and faculty representatives answered questions on academic pathways, scholarships, research opportunities and student life in Ireland.

Irish Visa Office answers questions directly

An official from the Irish Visa Office held a dedicated seminar on the student visa process. The session covered documentation, timelines and financial planning, and gave students, parents and education agents the chance to put questions directly to the visa team ahead of the upcoming intakes.

CII forum brings Irish and Indian institutions together

In a unique addition to this year’s fair, Education in Ireland and the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) hosted the Ireland-India Higher Education Forum, a platform for Irish and Indian institutions to explore Transnational Education (TNE) partnerships. Indian Institute of Management Mumbai, MET Institute, Pillai University and D Y Patil University School of Pharmacy were among the Indian institutions represented.

Speaking at the forum, Consul General Duffy said, “India and Ireland share a long-standing relationship across education, research and talent mobility. Bringing institutions from both countries together through this forum creates an opportunity to discuss practical models of collaboration and identify areas where we can deepen our engagement. We look forward to seeing these conversations translate into stronger institutional partnerships and opportunities for students.”

A panel on “TNE Success Stories and the Way Forward” featured Dr Colum A. Foley, Dublin City University; Ms Carole Deering, Smurfit Business School, University College Dublin; Dr Shehrevar Davierwala, Dr. D. Y. Patil Vidyapeeth, Pune; and Dr Nitin N. Sakhare, VIT & Vishwakarma University, Pune. It was moderated by Dr Mohan B Rao, Strategic Advisor, KES Group of Institutions, Mumbai, and Regional Coordinator WR NCCIP AICTE.

The Mumbai fair will be followed by Chennai and Bengaluru this October. The fairs are designed to provide trusted, transparent guidance for those aspiring to study and live in Ireland.
