What exactly did Abhijeet Dipke study? From Engineering to Boston University

by BollywoodNewsAndMovie

Abhijeet Dipke, founder of the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), has returned to the centre of public attention after his detention in Delhi ahead of a planned protest at Jantar Mantar on October 10. The party has since called for another demonstration, demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar over alleged irregularities in voter-list revisions. Dipke and two fellow CJP leaders were released after being detained on October 10, 2026.

Dipke’s path to politics began in education, first in engineering and later in international affairs. Many of the claims around his Boston Degree surfaced after detention and being absent from CJP’s press conference held today.

Let’s know what exactly he studied.

FROM MARATHI-MEDIUM SCHOOL TO ENGINEERING

Born in Maharashtra in 1996, Dipke studied at a Marathi-medium school until Class 10 before moving to an English-medium school for his higher secondary education. According to the CJP website, he scored 92% in Class 12 and studied Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.

The same account contains conflicting references to the school board, so that detail remains unclear.

He went on to study Computer Engineering at Government College of Engineering, Aurangabad, graduating in 2018. During college, he took part in debates and student-council activities and wrote a blog titled Tier-2 Engineer, about the difficulties faced by engineering students outside the IIT and NIT systems.

After graduation, Dipke worked as a backend developer at two Pune-based startups for four years.

BOSTON UNIVERSITY AND INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS

In 2023, Dipke secured admission to Boston University’s Frederick S Pardee School of Global Studies. According to his party’s published biography, he is pursuing a master’s degree in International Relations, with a focus on South Asian political economy.

His Boston University studies remain part of his published educational profile. No reliable public update located for this article establishes that he has discontinued the course.

His present enrolment and academic status could not, however, be independently confirmed by the university. Boston University’s Pardee School continues to offer graduate programmes in international affairs and related fields.

FROM EDUCATION REFORM TO PROTEST POLITICS

Dipke has long criticised the disadvantages faced by students and the failures of India’s examination and education systems. After working with the Aam Aadmi Party, he founded the CJP in May 2026, following remarks by the Chief Justice of India that provoked a wider controversy over unemployed youth.

The party subsequently called for demonstrations at Jantar Mantar, raising questions about examination irregularities and accountability in public education. The movement later broadened its campaign to electoral issues.

On October 10, Dipke and fellow CJP leaders Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka were detained after arriving in Delhi for a planned protest. They were released the following day, while the party renewed its call for demonstrations at Jantar Mantar.

Dipke’s journey thus runs from a Marathi-medium classroom to an engineering degree, a career in software development and postgraduate study in the United States. His academic course at Boston University remains an important part of his biography, even as his political work has brought him back to the centre of India’s public debates.
