Bank of Baroda Achieves Major Milestone in Rajbhasha Implementation, Wins Prestigious Award for Fifth Time

Mumbai  : Bank of Baroda has been honoured with the prestigious Rajbhasha Kirti Award for the fifth consecutive year for its outstanding work in the implementation of the official language, Hindi. For the year 2025-26, the bank received the Second Prize in the category of Public Sector Banks/Financial Institutions having more than 800 employees.

The award was presented on September 14, 2026, at the Hindi Diwas 2026 celebrations and the 6th All India Rajbhasha Conference, held at the CIDCO Exhibition Centre in Navi Mumbai. The award was received by Dr. Debadatta Chand, Managing Director & CEO of Bank of Baroda, from Union Ministers of State for Home Affairs Nityanand Rai and Bandi Sanjay Kumar.

Dr. Chand said that the recognition reflects the bank’s commitment to the millions of customers who prefer banking services in their own languages. The bank is strengthening multilingual facilities across various platforms, including bob World, WhatsApp Banking, chatbots and call centres. Recently, the bank also introduced its AI-powered initiative, ‘bob SAMVAD’.

Over the past five years, Bank of Baroda has received three First Prizes and two Second Prizes under the Rajbhasha Kirti Awards. Including awards received from various Town Official Language Implementation Committees (NARAKAS), the bank has won a total of 20 awards this year.
