India pick split ODI squad for New Zealand tour as Test preparations loom
India’s ODI series in New Zealand begins in Auckland on November 4. Five matches will be played across Auckland, Wellington, Hamilton and Tauranga, with the last on November 15. Two Tests follow straight after. The first starts in Wellington on November 19, and the second finishes in Christchurch on December 1. That short gap between formats is a big reason why this selection is being watched so closely.

The ODI squad was announced on Friday. The selectors picked a split squad for the first three ODIs an a separate squad for the 4th and 5th ODIs. The fifth ODI in Tauranga is on November 15, and the first Test begins four days later.
TOI earlier reported that, like New Zealand, India too will pick a split squad for the ODI series. A few regular India players may prepare with the red ball for a crucial World Test Championship series.
