Directed by Nitesh Tiwari and produced by Namit Malhotra, Ramayana is an ambitious two-part cinematic adaptation of the Indian epic.

Ramayana is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on November 5, 2026.
Nitesh Tiwari’s much-awaited Ramayana has received an overwhelmingly positive first reaction following its Mumbai screening. Content creator Ashish Chanchlani, who attended the screening, has praised the film for its breathtaking visuals, spectacular action sequences and strong performances by the lead cast, calling it a potential historic blockbuster.
Taking to his X (formerly Twitter) handle, Ashish shared his review of the Ranbir Kapoor and Yash-starrer, describing it as a film of “truly epic proportions”. While he was particularly impressed by the action set pieces, he credited director Nitesh Tiwari for being the film’s biggest strength.
“Ramayana is a blockbuster of truly epic proportions, delivering some of the absolute best action set pieces Indian cinema has ever seen. But beyond the breathtaking visual spectacle, the film’s biggest strength is Nitesh Tiwari’s astute direction. This is entirely his ship, and he sails it with supreme control,” he wrote.

Every single risk taken by DNEG and Namit Malhotra has paid off magnificently, with each action sequence outdoing the last. Nothing is going to stop this film from becoming a historic blockbuster. My only advice is PLEASE WATCH ON THE BIGGEST SCREEN POSSIBLEDo not judge this by cheap leaks or resort to piracy-this is made for the big screen.I was sobbing in the end after the Jatayu fight scene— Ashish Chanchlani (@ashchanchlani) November 3, 2026
The content creator also had a special mention for the film’s casting, praising Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi and Yash for their performances. He then gave a special shoutout for Ravi Dubey, who plays Lakshman in the film. “A special shoutout to Ravi Dubey-he absolutely smashes it as Laxman. Surprisingly the film has some wholesome humorous scenes that include him,” he mentioned.
While Ashish acknowledged a few minor technical shortcomings, including some de-aging shots in the night sequences that felt slightly off, he said the film’s tight editing ensured that these moments did not become distracting.
