ALIGARH, October 21: Faculty members and postgraduate students of the Department of Pathology, Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College (JNMC), Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), made notable academic contributions and won prizes at UP PATHCON 2026, organised by Regency Hospital, Kanpur.
Prof. Nishat Afroz moderated a panel discussion on “Grey Zone in Endometrial Biopsies: When Common Isn’t Simple”, focusing on diagnostic challenges and the importance of careful histopathological assessment. Prof. Kafil Akhtar delivered a lecture on “Pseudo-Neoplastic Lesions of the Female Genital Tract”, while Prof. Mohd. Jaseem presented “Round, Blue and Clueless: A Case-Based Approach to Blue Round Cell Tumour”, highlighting diagnostic approaches to challenging neoplasms.
Dr. Bushra Siddiqui conducted the postgraduate quiz, which attracted around 17 teams from medical colleges across Uttar Pradesh. Dr. Murad Ahmed served as a judge for the scientific poster presentations.
Adding to the department’s achievements, Dr. Sidra Khatoon secured second prize in the scientific paper presentation, while Dr. Varidhi Sharma won third prize in the poster presentation.
