AMU NSS Organises Mental Health and Sports Awareness Programme – India Education | Latest Education News | Global Educational News

ALIGARH, September 18: The National Service Scheme (NSS), Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), organised a Mental Health and Sports Awareness Programme and Prize Distribution Ceremony 2K26 at the NSS Conference Hall, with the participation of NSS Programme Officers and volunteers.

In keeping with the NSS motto, “Not Me But You,” the programme highlighted the importance of mental health, physical fitness and sports in maintaining a healthy and balanced lifestyle. It also recognised the achievements of NSS volunteers in various sports activities.

Poonam Lata Raj, District Sports Officer, Aligarh, was the Chief Guest, while Dr. Mohd. Arshad Bari, Department of Physical Education, AMU, graced as the Guest of Honour. Dr. Mohd. Mohsin Khan, Coordinator, AMU NSS Unit, and Md. Imran Khan, Programme Officer and Event Organizer, were also present.

Welcoming the guests and participants, Dr. Mohd. Mohsin Khan emphasised the role of NSS activities in promoting social responsibility, health awareness and overall personality development among youth.

Dr. Mohd. Arshad Bari delivered a special lecture on mental health, highlighting the relationship between physical activity, sports and mental well-being. He encouraged NSS volunteers to make regular physical activity and sports part of their lifestyle and stressed the importance of a positive and balanced approach to mental health.

The prize distribution ceremony honoured the winners and runners-up in badminton. In the Boys’ Singles, Aman Ansari won the title, while Tanveer Alam was the runner-up. In the Girls’ Singles, Tahrim Jamal emerged winner and Pragya Sharma finished runner-up. Aman Ansari and Faheem won the Boys’ Doubles title, while Tanveer Alam and Muhammad Hassan Hashmi were runners-up. In the Girls’ Doubles, Ayrah Arooj Bhat and Pragya Sharma won, while Sumiya Shabir and Misba Tariq were runners-up.

The programme was conducted by Dr. Fauzia Faridi, Programme Officer in the presence of other Programme Officers, Dr. Abdul Jabbar, Dr. Mohd. Arsalan, Dr. Nahid Akbari and Mr Naeem Ahmad. Md. Imran Khan proposed a vote of thanks.
